Je fais des pieds et des mains.

The question that precedes creation is ”what if” and then it goes either towards the simplification of the subject or the complete opposite, leading me to work for long periods of time on the same topic until there is nothing else to say about it.

For the past year I have been working on the subject of human motion, what it means and how it works. At one point I concluded that feet were the most important element of human motion and so I drew them obsessionally.What is fascinating about feet is not what they are as an object but what they can do and what they represent: human poetry in motion.

Feet and walking lead my curiosity toward the opposite: stillness…rest…sedentariness, and then the idea of home as the place where you stay idle; which is the subject I’m exploring right now.
