Yanireth Jiménez Torres is a versatile talent on a journey through art and cultures. Born and raised in Panama, she studied graphic design in Brazil, moved to France and recently graduated from the École supérieure d’art de Grenoble.

Her art practice displays the exuberance of Latin America, the expressions of its colorful people, in the spirit of the tropics. Through her unique perspective on French and Latin culture, she confronts the viewer to consider the nature of art: the importance of beauty and fun as an end in itself .

The main subjects through which she navigates art are the idea of home, moving as in going from one place to another and changing homes.

In her own words: “While art needs to be daring, it is also important not to lose sight of small joys, and use these emotions we all share as human beings to  bridge the gap between high art and popular culture.”
